How to Make The Best Hot Cocoa Ever
Ingredients (Serves 2):
- 2 cups whole milk (or plant-based milk like oat or almond)
- 3 tbsp ofYour Signature Hot Cocoa Mix
- 2 tbsp peppermint syrup or 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
For Garnish:
- 4 large marshmallows
- Crushed peppermint candies
- Chocolate shavings
- A torch or broiler for toasting
Heat the Milk: Warm the milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat until it’s steaming, but not boiling.
Mix the Cocoa: Whisk in your hot cocoa mix and a pinch of salt until fully dissolved and smooth.
Add Flavorings: Stir in peppermint syrup (or extract) and vanilla extract. Let the mixture simmer gently for 1-2 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
Toast Marshmallows: Place the marshmallows on a baking sheet and toast them under a broiler or with a kitchen torch until golden brown. Be sure to watch closely to prevent burning.
Serve: Pour the hot cocoa into two mugs, top each with two toasted marshmallows, and garnish with crushed peppermint candies and chocolate shavings.
